of fact, it is sometimes the greed and fear from the poverty demon that causes people to stay bound, even by their money and by their blessing. Satan will do anything to stop us from serving the living God and obeying the Holy Scriptures. Satan will do any- thing he possibly can to keep us submitted to him and his system—even though with our mouth we say we worship God, and with our heart we feel warm toward God and confess Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
I once asked a young man who his master was. “Jesus,” he said.“Jesus is my master.”“Oh, really?” I said. I asked him if he had a credit card. He said he carried a MasterCard. I asked him the percentage he paid to the MasterCard bank. He said it was around 22 percent. With a pastoral reply I said,“Isn’t it something that you pay MasterCard 22 to 28 percent and can’t even pay Master Jesus 10 percent through the system of tithes and offerings? So you’re telling me, young man, according to your money, you have a lord who has subjected you to his system, rather than allowing Jesus to free you from it.
Many of us were actually raised in this system and taught by our parents who helped us to be more concerned about a credit rating than living by cash.
I am certainly not against having a good credit rating or anything that protects our good name and proves we have kept our word with other people, but it is time for us to break away from this deeply embedded and integrated indoctrination of man. God has given us a way to destroy this satanic hold and renew our mind with the Word of God until we are no longer submitted to any of these five demons; and in fact, we can see them coming and block their avenue of approach to our life and family.
Study the great verses on tithing, giving, sowing, forgiving, confessing God’s Word, obeying His Word, and the other ways God said He would prosper us and respond to us with His blessing. We must do this the way God said to do it. We must live the way God said to live. The Bible is the instruction manual for life. If we obey it, fully follow its instructions, and do nothing outside of it, we will have the promises of God released toward us. We must recognize and discern the activity of these evil spirits in our life, and then we must rebuke them and cast them out of our life (and, in
fact, out of our very thoughts).
I will stand with you on this, and I will believe God with you that their activity in your life, ministry, business, and family has come to a close—that you may resist them with everything that is within you. May you prosper and be in health, even as your soul doth prosper.
James 4:7
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
