My son Josh grew up to be a great man of God—a preacher of the Word in his own right, a tremendous father to his children, and a great leader in the kingdom of God. He is a great husband to Trish. It is encouraging to watch him walk out his life and chase God. His influence is tremendous and growing every day.
I have been most privileged in my lifetime to have met great men—and great men of God. My life has been creased with their wisdom and their lifestyle. Their personal discipline and stature helped form who I am. Their spirituality created a hunger in me to also walk with God. I’ve always said that if one does not first become a man, he will never be a candidate to become a man of God.
than most do in 90. He changed the world, and he changed me. In my very last meeting with him, he asked me what I wanted from him and why I chased him for almost 30 years. I answered, “Pastor, I don’t want anything from you—I want to be like you” (Heb. 6:12). John Osteen, one of the greats!
KENNETH E. HAGIN
Dr. Hagin was a true prophet of God and one of the best Bible teachers I have ever met. He literally changed the world with his teaching on faith. He helped develop the future through his prophetic gift and flowing in the gifts of the Spirit. He sure changed me. Many, many ministers of the gospel and believers are obeying God today because of his obedience to our Lord and Savior. My life was marked forever by sitting in his meetings, where Jesus would show up! Kenneth E. Hagin, one of the greats!
My son-in-law James is also a great man of God. He impacts
so many people. He is a great husband to my daughter Dawn, a great father to his children, and a great teacher of the Word. His outgoing personality has made him many friends. Sometimes Vickie and I say, “Is there anybody in this town James doesn’t know?” He is a man who can be found at the altars, and a man of prayer.
After I gave my life to Christ, I met some of the “greats” in His kingdom. I feel blessed and privileged to have had them in my life. Space doesn’t permit me to share on each of them or much about any one of them,
but I can, out of gratitude, at least mention a handful.
My natural dad died when I was young. I remember him as a good dad and always wished he could
JOHN OSTEEN
Pastor John Osteen (a Spirit-filled, tongue-talking, demon-casting-out, miracle healer in Christ and a global missionary) built a church of about 20,000 members without cheating at all or using any marketing schemes. He was a holy man and in love with Jesus Christ. He could say more in 30 minutes in the pulpit
have been in my life as I grew up... and even now.
My Grandpa Carey was a good man. The longer I live, the more
I realize just what an influence he was on my life. I am grateful.
